At current times people are becoming more aware of the negative impact that fashion (and especially fast fashion) has on the environment. .
Customers are thus looking to play their part in supporting brands that are working on decreasing their carbon footprint and trying to be more green. However, some fashion brands can deceive their customers by doing something called “greenwashing” by claiming that their products, policies or aims are better for the Earth than other brands'. They might give “green-sounding” names to products that are actually extremely polluting in hopes of attracting environmentally conscious customers. However, this type of false advertising can backfire when the brand's claims do not match up with their actual environmental engagement
